On September 10, 2025, the second China UK Industrial Cooperation Dialogue was held in Beijing. Minister of Industry and Information Technology Li Lecheng and UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade Peter Kyle co chaired the dialogue.
Li Lecheng stated that China and the UK share extensive common interests. China is willing to work with the UK to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both sides, promote the alignment of China's industrial and information technology "15th Five Year Plan" with the UK's "Modern Industry Strategy", deepen exchanges and cooperation in areas such as automobiles, industrial carbon reduction, digital economy, and industrial data, continue to promote the construction of the China UK modern industry partnership, create an open, inclusive, and fair market environment, inject new impetus into practical cooperation between China and the UK, and better achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
Peter Kyle stated that China has played an important role in the long-term development of the UK. The UK is willing to strengthen exchanges with China on industrial standards, regulations, and policies, make good use of the China UK industrial cooperation dialogue mechanism, and enhance practical cooperation in industrial data, intelligent manufacturing, clean energy, electric vehicles, and other fields.
Representatives from both sides discussed the cooperation between the two countries in the fields of automobiles, digital economy, artificial intelligence, and industrial green and low-carbon, as well as the establishment of a modern industrial partnership between China and the UK, and deepened exchanges between enterprises. At the meeting, both sides jointly signed the joint outcome document of the second China UK Industrial Cooperation Dialogue.
The heads of relevant departments and subordinate units of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, representatives of relevant departments of the UK Department of Commerce and Trade and the British Embassy in China, and representatives of Chinese and British enterprises participated in the dialogue.
