The Chinese delegation has completed the task of attending the Fourth Research Group and its subordinate working groups of the Radio Communication Department of the International Telecommunication Union
From October 15th to November 7th, 2025, the Fourth Research Group (SG4) of the International Telecommunication Union's Radiocommunication Department and its subordinate WP4A, WP4B, and WP4C working groups will hold a meeting in Geneva, Switzerland.
SG4 is mainly responsible for researching the rational, fair, efficient, and economical use of radio spectrum and satellite orbit resources (hereinafter referred to as“ Frequency Track Resources; )There are three working groups mainly responsible for researching international technical rules for the use of frequency orbit resources related to satellite fixed, satellite mobile, satellite broadcasting, satellite radio determination and other services.
The focus of this meeting is on the WRC-27 space business topics led by SG4, including new frequency allocation for satellite services, unauthorized terminal launches, satellite service areas and authorized use, direct connection of mobile phones to satellites, as well as hot issues such as coexistence and development of high and low orbit satellites, space sustainability, satellite wireless navigation services, IMT-2030 satellite communication technology. A large number of working documents, contact letters and other outcome documents have been formed, and 6 revised proposals, 2 new project proposals, 1 revised report, and 1 proposal abolished have been reviewed and approved. China has submitted 48 manuscripts, all of which have been adopted by the conference, actively contributing Chinese wisdom and solutions to the revision of international rules for global satellite communication, navigation and other businesses.
103 representatives from 25 units including relevant departments of the State Council, research institutions, universities, and enterprises attended the conference through a combination of online and offline methods.
