On April 14, 2026, the Equipment Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, and the Transport Service Department of the Ministry of Transport jointly organized a conference on intelligent connected vehicle road testing and demonstration applications, deploying self-examination and rectification, and strengthening safety supervision work.

The meeting emphasized the need to thoroughly implement the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, further enhance political positioning, adhere to coordinated development and safety, and carry out intelligent connected vehicle road testing and demonstration applications in a steady and orderly manner. Each region should conduct comprehensive self inspection and evaluation based on recent security incidents, identify and analyze the main problems, and conscientiously carry out rectification work; To establish a sound working mechanism, improve relevant management policies, strengthen safety supervision throughout the entire process, enhance emergency response capabilities, and ensure the safe and orderly conduct of testing and demonstration activities. The relevant departments will continue to improve the management system related to autonomous driving, establish a three-level technology maturity and safety evaluation mechanism at the national, local, and enterprise levels, further strengthen the construction of emergency support capabilities, and promote the high-quality development of the intelligent connected vehicle industry with high-level safety.

The meeting will be held in video format, with the participation of responsible officials from provincial industrial and information technology, public security, and transportation departments, as well as officials from relevant cities conducting road testing and demonstration applications.
