On October 20th, the State Council Information Office held a press conference to introduce the development of industry and information technology in the first three quarters of 2026. Wang Weiming, Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, introduced that since the beginning of this year, positive results have been achieved in the high-quality development of industry and information technology.

One is to improve the quality of stable economic operation. Adhere to the coordinated efforts of supply and demand, promote the implementation and effectiveness of stable growth policies in key industries, expand the supply of high-quality industrial products, ensure the stable operation of the industrial economy, and achieve synchronous growth in production and efficiency. In the first three quarters, the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 5.3% year-on-year, and the contribution rate of industry to economic growth remained at around 35%. In the first 8 months, the total profit of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 15.7% year-on-year. The digital industry is accelerating its development, with a year-on-year increase of 14.6% in revenue.

Secondly, the industrial structure is moving towards a new and optimal direction. Strengthening the implementation of major technological upgrades and large-scale equipment updates in the manufacturing industry, revitalizing traditional industries, accelerating emerging industries, and seizing opportunities for future industrial layout. In the first three quarters, the added value of high-tech manufacturing industry above designated size increased by 14.3% year-on-year, and the proportion of added value of equipment manufacturing industry to industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 0.8 percentage points compared to the end of last year. In RMB terms, the proportion of exports of electromechanical products and high-tech products to the total export value increased by 3.8 and 4.9 percentage points respectively compared to the same period last year. New products such as humanoid robots are accelerating their entry into the market, and innovative achievements in the field of pharmaceuticals are constantly emerging. 6G、 New tracks such as brain computer interfaces and biomanufacturing are accelerating their cultivation.

The third is to deepen and solidify advanced manufacturing. With the new generation of intelligent manufacturing as the main focus, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is deeply implementing; Artificial Intelligence+Manufacturing; Action has taken new strides in the development of advanced manufacturing industry. The construction of smart factories has been accelerated, and more than 13000 advanced level smart factories and over 500 excellent level smart factories have been built. Domestic computing power and the ability to adapt to large models continue to enhance, forming over 1000 application scenarios in 20 industries such as steel, automotive, and pharmaceuticals, and selecting and promoting more than 100 cohesive projects; Master's Experience; Industrial intelligent agents. The development of green manufacturing is accelerating, and a total of 8336 national green factories have been cultivated. The energy consumption of industrial units with added value above designated size continues to decline. New models such as personalized customization and full lifecycle services are constantly expanding, and the integration of advanced manufacturing and modern service industries is deepening, promoting the transformation of the manufacturing industry from; Selling products; Towards“ Selling plan” Upgrade and extend towards the high-end links of the value chain.

The fourth is the continuous optimization of the development environment. Adhere to precise service for enterprises, regularly carry out discussions and exchanges with manufacturing enterprises, continuously improve the gradient cultivation system for high-quality small and medium-sized enterprises, and focus on solving urgent and difficult problems for enterprises. Focusing on rectifying irrational competition in key industries, we will comprehensively apply market-oriented and rule of law methods to maintain a fair and healthy market competition order. Through the joint efforts of all parties, the proportion of electronic voucher payments for accounts payable in the automotive industry has significantly decreased, and the prices of mainstream photovoltaic modules in China have stabilized.
